Aimee

Aimee Kurian has been runner for over 10 years. She started running marathons in college and has also run several ultramarathons (50k). In recent years, she has gotten into triathlons in the spirit of her husband Joe and his active family. Aimee recently won the 2008 Madison Marathon. She will race her first Ironman Wisconsin this year. Aimee & Joe have a spirited toddler, Holly June who turned one in December 2007.

Chris Dahlk has been distance running most of her life but over the last five years she has been mixing more multi-sport into her fitness diet. She has completed many 10K, half-marathon, marathon, olympic and sprint distance triathlons before taking on the Ironman triathlon. Chris has now completed the event two times and will be enjoying herself competing in the 2008 Ironman Wisconsin.

Chris is currently a graduate student at Edgewood College and working on his M.A. in Education. He is also a Graduate Assistant to the track and cross country coach at Edgewood. Chris moved to Madison in January from Michigan where he spent the prior year and a half teaching Social Studies in a middle school. He is a graduate of Central Michigan University where he an cross country and track for the Chippewas and he has continued his love for running every day. He has run the 2006 and 2007 Detroit Freepress Marathons, as well as the 2007 Boston Marathon, and is seeking to continue his improvement. Chris also has a passion for coaching. He coached middle school track and varsity cross country while teaching in Michigan, enjoys working with high school runners each summer at the Paavo Running Camps, and is now coaching at Edgewood College.

David Meixelsperger has been an avid runner for most of his life and a marathon runner the past 10 years. Besides many local races, he has participated in the following marathon races: Boston, Chicago, Duluth, Madison, Milwaukee, New York City, San Francisco, South Bend, and Washington, DC. David also completed the 2004 Wisconsin Ironman triathlon.

David has earned his Ph. D. in Education Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2004. He has served as an elementary principal for 12 school years.

 

Don

Don Dahlk has been involved in sports and fitness his entire life-both as a participant and as a coach. Other current interests include mountaineering, running, adventure racing and triathlon events.

Don founded Capitol Lawn Sprinkler, Inc., an all irrigation contracting business, with his father in April, 1984. He is involved in daily operations as both an administrator and field leader.

 

Eric

Eric has been running for the better part of the past 10 years. He ran his first marathon in 2006 and swore he would never do it again. Two years later, however, he finished his third marathon with a qualifying time for the Boston Marathon in 2009.

Eric works as a Project Manager for a mechanical contractor in Madison. He lives on Madison's west side with his wife Elyse and two dogs, Lola and Winston.

 

Matt

Matt was born and raised in Madison and graduated from Madison East. He originally started running as a way to stay in shape for wrestling and became hooked. Matt ran throughout college and just recently started doing longer distances like half marathons and full marathons. Matt's dog Cashous enjoys running with him as well. Today, Matt lives on Madison's Northside with his fiance Jennifer, to be married this July.

 

Megan

Megan ran her first marathon in 2003 and has been hooked ever since. A former UW Badger runner, Megan has completed several marthons including Boston, Chicago and Memphis. After graduating from UW-Madison in 2006, Megan moved to Wyoming to work for an outdoor leadership company, backpacked through New Zealand, and completed a medical spanish program in Oaxaca, Mexico. Besides running, she enjoys triathlons, tennis, nordic skiing and ice cream. Megan plans to move to Minneapolis this fall to pursue a Masters in Public Health Nutrition.

 

Paco

Paco has been an avid athlete all of his life. To support his strong biking background, he has trained for longer running distances. Paco completed the 2007 Madison Marathon.

Paco brings a full resume of a retail background. He is a wonderful additional to the Berkeley Crew, serving as an excellent fitter when it comes to apparel and shoes. 

 

Paul

Paul is currently a geology graduate student at UW-Madison. He is a graduate of Franklin and Marshall College, Pa. in 2004, where he ran both cross country and track and field. His post-collegiate running career has focused on marathons. He took first place at the recent 2008 Toledo, Ohio, Marathon. Another top finish was for him in 2004 when he took second in the South Bend Sunburst Marathon. Paul also has placed in the top 100 men at the Boston Marathon in 2006, and hopes to keep lowering his marathon PR. He believes that a strong mix of distance and speed work that doesn’t just focus on tacking on miles can help all runners achieve their goals.

 

Rolando

Rolando Cruz brings some wonderful synergy to our Berkeley staff. Rolando embraces life and the positive things that lies ahead each day. He loves to spend time with nature through either photography and/or running. Rolando has participated in many local races including the Madison Marathon and run to Stoughton each May.

 

Ryan

Ryan is a junior at the University of Wisconsin Madison. He runs track and cross country for the Badgers. He specializes in the mile (4:03) and and recently won the 2008 Big Ten Track Title in the 3,000m steeplchase. He has been running since gradeschool and has continued on since then to take his running to the national level. He loves to share his love for running with anyone who is interested. He considers himself a student of the sport and running is his biggest passion in life.

 

Shelby

Shelby joined the cross country team in middle school because he "just felt like running." Since then he has enjoyed running and racing whenever and wherever he can. He’s a graduate of UW-Oshkosh and works as a communication specialist in Madison. He plans on running the Lakefront Marathon.

 

Tim

Tim is a junior at the University of Wisconsin double majoring in Marketing and Real Estate. Tim has worked in the specialty running sector for 3 years before joining the Berkeley staff. Tim ran competitively in high school for Lincoln-Way East High School in Frankfort, IL. He now runs cross country and track for the University of Wisconsin.

 

Zach

Zach is in his junior year at Mt. Horeb High School. He started running on his middle school track team, loving the competition and the racing atmosphere. He then joined the high school cross country team where he has become the team's number one runner. Zach enjoys being competitive and striving for personal bests.

Running has helped to comfortably shape Zach as what used to be hard for him isn't anymore. Zach has learned to be strong through the hard workouts and races he takes part in. Running also keeps him very positive and allows him to feel good about himself.

Zach is excited to be at Berkeley where he can be part of a running environment. He looks forward to meeting runners of all kinds who enjoys his same passion. Whether you have just started to run or have been running for years, Zach looks forward to hearing about your personal stories and experiences!

 

Zeb

Zeb is a junior majoring in electrical engineering at UW-Madison, where he has been a member of the UW Triathlon team for 3 years. He has completed several Olympic and half Ironman distance triathlons and was a finisher of Ironman Wisconsin in 2006. Currently Zeb has taken up an interest in ultramarathons (runs longer than 26.2 miles). He completed is first “ultra” last year at the Superior Trail 50 mile run, and hopes to one day complete the Western States 100.
