| Marathon Running 101The Berkeley Running Company's staff will share their respective experiences of training and participating in marathons. Besides the physcial aspect that is involved with training for a long distance event, the art of mental preparation is very important for runners/walkers. Come spend an hour with members of Team Berkeley and engage in this wonderful opportunity of questioning and answering to improve on your performance.
Prior to the start of this wonderful learning opportunity, Tony Escarega, will proudly discussPR1pak, a performance running supplement designed to allow runners to get the most out of one's training. PR1pak is formulated to meet the demanding stresses that running places on one's body, allowing a runner to increase endurance, quicken recovery, get more lean, and boost one's immune system. With the collaboration of UW researchers, the patent-pending formula for PR1pak is soundly scientifically-based and proven effective.
PR1pak was designed and formulated here in Madison, by Tony, an University of Wisconsin All-American runner with a strong background in biomedical engineering. |
| Ironman Wisconsin Bib Give AwayThe Berkeley Running Company is pleased to announce we have received an entry for one of our customers to use with the 2008 Wisconsin Ironman Triathlon, to be held September 7. Our winner will be chosen after reading his/her rationale on why he/she should be allowed to represent Berkeley at this year's grand event. All entries should be dropped off in our store by Tuesday, July 29, at 8:00 PM. The winner will be announced on Friday, August 1.
One entry per person. Please explain your reasons on why you should receive this coveted award. Best wishes to all entrants!
All entries will remain the property of Berkeley Running Company. |
| Berkeley Summer StridersWe have begun our Summer Children Striders' running program. Twice per week David leads children groups to explore the tree-lined neighborhood streets that surround the Berkeley Running Company. The elementary aged children meet at 9:00 and the middle school aged children gather at 10:00 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please email info@berkeleyrunningcompany.com or call us at 395-2375 if you are interested with participating in the run/walk opportunities. |
| High School RunsWisconsin Badgers' cross country/track teammates Ryan and Tim lead a high school short run each Wednesday morning at 9:00 to help runners maintain their skills and endurance during the off season. Please email either Ryan or Tim at info@berkeleyrunningcompany.com if you are interested or have questions. |
| Nordic WalkingJoin Tom Rutlin, father of Nordic Walking Training Options, and Berkeley staff member, Rolando Cruz, each Wednesday evening as the two lead group walks each at 6:00. Our sessions will leave from the Running Company. Please register by Wednesday each week at 4:00. |

To continue to share our support toward your training and recovery compression needs, we are excited to add to our CW-X clothing line a product that our own University of Wisconsin Swimming Coach, Eric Hanson, has his athletes wear... SKINS. Just like CW-X, SKINS technical compression wear has been developed and designed to provide engineered gradient compression. When compression is engineered to apply a balanced and accurate surface pressure over specific body parts, it triggers an acceleration of blood flow. This increases oxygen delivery to working muscles to enhance their performance. The circulation improvements also help the body to eliminate lactic acid and other metabolic wastes. The combination of these effects allows you to work at a higher rate for longer.
