For the first time I wore a pair of CWX tights last night on my run. I’m not talking about fitted running pants, I’m talking about real thigh-hugging tights (see right).
After taking a couple days to build up enough confidence to step out in public in them, I wore them last night for a 14-mile run. And I liked them, a lot.
My legs were a little tired from a race this past weekend but the tights seemed to help support my legs. The rubber, stretchy fabric even seemed to help propel my legs forward with a rubber band kind of effect. And, with the slim fit, they make you feel faster.
David, owner of Berkeley Running Company, also told me that they can be used to help your legs recover after a tough run or workout. He said he will wear them under his blue jeans after a marathon on the plane ride back home.
Like I said, they do take a little getting used to. When I first looked at them on the hanger at the store I thought, "There's no way my legs are fitting in there!" And on my run last night, I got a couple looks from drivers and pedestrians but that’s really pretty normal on any run.
If you’re interested in joining the ever-growing club of runners who wear tights, I’m sure David would be more than happy to help you out!
