Chris

Chris Dahlk has been distance running most of her life but over the last five years she has been mixing more multi-sport into her fitness diet. She has completed many 10K, half-marathon, marathon, olympic and sprint distance triathlons before taking on the Ironman triathlon. Chris has now completed the event three times, with the last Wisconsin Ironman being in 2008.

Chris is currently a graduate student at Edgewood College and working on his M.A. in Education. He is also a Graduate Assistant to the track and cross country coach at Edgewood. Chris moved to Madison from Michigan where he spent the prior year and a half teaching Social Studies in a middle school. He is a graduate of Central Michigan University where he ran cross country and track. He has run the 2006 and 2007 Detroit Freepress Marathons, as well as the 2007 Boston Marathon. Chris has coached middle school track and varsity cross country while teaching in Michigan, enjoys working with high school runners each summer at the Paavo Running Camps.

Dan

Dan has been an avid runner for the last 18 years. He ran competitively in high school and in college at the University of South Dakota. He has competed in several marathons, half-marathons, and sprint triathlons. His favorite race is the Boston Marathon and Quad Cities Triathlon. Besides running, other interests include live music, healthy food, and reading. Dan is the Director of Team Sales for the area high schools.

David Meixelsperger has been an avid runner for most of his life and a marathon runner the past 10 years. Besides many local races, he has participated in the following marathon races: Boston, Chicago, Duluth, Madison, Milwaukee, New York City, Philadelphia, San Francisco, South Bend, and Washington, DC. David also completed the 2004 Wisconsin Ironman triathlon.
David has earned his Ph. D. in Education Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2004. He has served as an elementary principal for 12 school years.

Don Dahlk has been involved in sports and fitness his entire life-both as a participant and as a coach. Other current interests include mountaineering, running, adventure racing and triathlon events.
Don founded Capitol Lawn Sprinkler, Inc., an all irrigation contracting business, with his father in April, 1984. He is involved in daily operations as both an administrator and field leader.

After a childhood spent on the couch, Liz started running as a teenager in order to lose weight. She successfully shed the pounds and went on to compete in track, swimming, cross country and rowing. Though injuries have slowed her down slightly in recent years, Liz continues to compete in area races ranging from 5k's to half marathons.

Paul

Paul is a geology Ph.D. student at UW-Madison. He is a graduate of Franklin and Marshall College, Pa., where he ran both cross country and track and field. His post-collegiate running career has focused on marathons. He took 1st at the 2008 Toledo, Ohio, Marathon, and second at both the 2009 LaCrosse Marathon and the 2004 South Bend Sunburst Marathon. Paul also has placed in the top 100 men at the Boston Marathon in 2006, and hopes to keep lowering his marathon PR of 2:33. He believes that a strong mix of distance and speed work that doesn’t just focus on tacking on miles can help all runners achieve their goals.

Rebecca

Rebecca has been been involved in sports her entire life including tennis, soccer, rowing, biking, snowboarding and running. She has run countless local and national races and enjoys the social aspect of the running community. In addition to sports, Rebecca enjoys shopping, baking, and volunteering at the Dane County Humane Society. She is an alumna of the University of Minnesota and currently is taking classes through Villanova University.

Rino

Rino has been a juggernaut with multisport and running in Madison. He is a regular with the annual Wisconsin Ironman event, completing every year since its existence. Dan has even competed in many international duathlons events, in which he has placed in his age group. His PR in the marathon is a lofty 2:18, which qualified him for the Olympic Marathon trials in the 1980’s. Other interests include his real estate business and his passion for giving back to Saint Thomas Aquinas church with his time and talent. Dan brings many years of experience to the table with running and racing to the Berkeley staff.

Rolando Cruz brings some wonderful synergy to our Berkeley staff. Rolando embraces life and the positive things that lies ahead each day. He loves to spend time with nature through either photography and/or running. Rolando has participated in many local races including the Madison Marathon and run to Stoughton each May, and looks forward to reaching his goals. He has helped speared the minimalistic movement in not only the Madison area, but in the state of Wisconsin as he has led several discussions on the topic at expo events.

Tony just graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a History major. He has been involved in the world of running since age 13 when he took interest in middle school running back in his hometown of Sheboygan, WI. Since then, Tony has been involved in track at Sheboygan South primarily running the 400m, 800m, and sprint relays. Recently Tony has taken interest in longer distances and hopes to complete either a half-marathon or possibly a full marathon. In his spare time Tony finds interest in history, nutrition, and playing the piano.

Michael

Michael took up distance running two years ago to lose weight. He ran his first half and full marathons in 2009. Since then, Michael has developed an “addiction” to the fun and benefits of running, and enjoys participating in many races around the Madison area. Besides working at Berkeley, Michael leads the Sunday N.R.L.B. run on Sunday afternoons. His enthusiasm toward running and walking is contagious.

Andy

Andy joined the Berkeley staff shortly after moving to beautiful Madison in August. A former starter on the UW-LaCrosse football squad, Andy completed his first marathon at the Fox Cities Marathon event in September. Currently Andy is transitioning into an endurance athlete, signing up to take part in the 2011 Wisconsin Ironman here in Madison. Andy's career path will have him entering medical school in September.

Dylan

Dylan is a sophomore studying kinesiology at the University of Wisconsin. He caught the running bug in high school, back in his hometown of Pittsboro, North Carolina. Dylan was an all-state 1600M runner, as well as an all-conference cross country runner.
Dylan has moved on to even greater challenges - his favorite race is the Krispy Kreme Challenge (pictured here): runners cover 2 miles, then down 12 doughnuts, and run an additional 2 miles - all in under an hour.

Tim is very active as he enjoys such activities as running, marketing, the Milwaukee Brewers, the Milwaukee Bicycle Company, the outdoors, teaching, various types of music and coaching. In collage Tim ran for UW-Milwaukee. Currently Tim coaches the Edgewood High School cross country and track teams where he has helped assist the runners for five years.

Tricia has maintained a very active, healthy lifestyle throughout her life, and her focus on a healthy diet keeps her energized and ready to go. She has participated in various sports including downhill skiing, softball, soccer, and gymnastics. She currently stays active through running and yoga. At the age of 30 she completed her first century bike ride in Lake Tahoe. Since then she has competed in several triathlons. She enjoys adventuress activities including whitewater rafting and zip-lining. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, drawing and volunteers with Habitat for Humanity.
