Featured Group Run: Beginner's Group

Join Paige for our Beginner's Running Group for a shorter evening run after work on Tuesdays. The group is open to runners of all levels, and leaves from Berkeley at 5:30pm.

A New Madison Training Group
Saturday Marathon Training Group
If a spring or summer marathon is on your calendar (especially those running the Green Bay Marathon on May 17), make sure you check out Rick Smith's Saturday Marathon Training group for some good company and conversation, as well as group motivation for those long training runs. The group meets Saturday mornings and is led by Berkeley's good friend Rick Smith. The long runs are guided by the book, "Run Less, Run Faster," though varying pace groups are designed to accommodate a wide range of runners and their training plans. Rick publishes the routes on MapMyRun before each Saturday.
Besides marathoners, many others join the group on Saturdays for shorter distances -- and routes are designed to let you adjust as needed. Runs typically start and finish at a local Madison coffee shop like Starbucks, Panera, Victor Allen's or EVP for the convenience of before-run restrooms and after-run coffee, food and conversation.

Early Morning Group Run
Tuesdays & Thursdays @ 5 a.m. (6 miles)
Saturdays @ 5 a.m. (10-20 miles)
Early-morning runs are a fantastic start to your day, giving you a boost of energy, a different perspective on your city and helping you find time for your training amid a busy schedule. The Berkeley Red Socks group leaves from the store at 5 a.m. sharp every Tuesday and Thursday for a six-mile run to the Capitol and back at a 7:30-7:45/mile pace. On Saturdays, the group goes long--anywhere from 10 to 20 miles.
The Red Socks group is perfect for anyone training for a Boston qualifying time (hence the group name) or anyone who just enjoys an early-morning run and wants a few friendly faces to join them.

Run Run Run
A new album from former Badger runner Ryan Craven
The Berkeley Running Company is happy to support former Badger runner, Ryan Craven, as he takes the next big step in his music career. His new album, "Run Run Run," is the culmination of Ryan's two greatest passions in life: running and music. Realizing running fans don't really have many songs that capture that which is so near and dear to them, Ryan drew from his own athletic experience and got to work crafting songs and scribbling lyrics.
